At tanner+teague we create numerous garments that work away from standard garment shapes. In that we regularly produce styles that are either unisex or function around a twist or drape, that works in harmony with the shape of the body. The following sizing charts and descriptions are to be used as a guide to how we create our styles, and the fit we recommend. The truth is that most people will fit multiple sizes, and ultimately it comes down to preference in regards to which size you prefer. To this, we offer a return or exchange policy that allows you the freedom to get the right fit, and also to try the product in your space.
Ready to Wear garments are based on a system where by the fashion house produces their pieces using a base size (which varies company to company) and then creates larger and smaller sizes based around sizing increments which are fixed. It is universally standard that the measurement increment from size is 5cm, so a size 10 is 5cm larger across the bust, waist and hips than a size 8 (it is also universal that sleeve length, neck lines, cuffs etc do not grow at the same rate, which is why most companies will give you a sizing breakdown that relies on Bust/Chest, Waist and Hips). At tanner+teague our sizing increments differ from this norm when the piece is an easy fit or is unisex.

The truth about trousers these days is that they are rarely worn on the true waist : the smallest part of the waist. The Hip on the other ha
nd is the widest part of the trunk, usually 20cm down from the true wiast. Usually pants will sit somewhere between 6-14 cm down from the true waist depending on whether they are more ‘waisted’ or more ‘hipster’. In the sizing chart below we have indicated the true waist, the High Hip - 10cm down from the true waist, and the Hip - the widest part of the body.
